Ofsted and SIAMS

Please see our OFSTED report from May 2026. We are really pleased with the outcome.

We are really pleased with our SIAMS report from May 2025 which praised our school in so many ways!

Here are some of the strengths from the report:

  • The Christian vision of the school has directed and steered the school through a time of change and uncertainty. Confident and caring leaders, supported well by the Sherborne Area Schools’ Trust (the trust) continue to move the school forward.
  • Relationships at every level, including those with families and the local church and community, are very strong. They are characterised by mutual trust and the importance of maintaining each person’s wellbeing.
  • Leaders and staff are committed to providing opportunities for flourishing for all on ‘wings to fly’, both within the curriculum and beyond. The provision for those who have special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) ensures that the school is a particularly nurturing and inclusive community.
  • There is a dynamic ambition for religious education (RE) in the school, in collaboration with the trust. This is based on a good understanding of the need for a curriculum to serve its particular context. It has been resourced thoughtfully to support learning for staff and pupils.

St Mary’s was inspected in February 2022.
